Steve Mallett
Founder
As a full time professional horseman and horse master Steve works with horses in the film and television industry. He began jousting in theatrical jousting stunt jousting in 1995. Steve joined Tobias Capwell and Mike Loades as a member of the 'Freelance' jousting team at The Royal Armouries in 2003. In 2005, he took the coveted Queen's Jubilee Horn in the Royal Armouries' annual championship. He also worked for the Royal Armouries in the external events “Armouries Live”. Steve has competed in and helped to run jousting shows at historical venues such as The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace for the Royal Palaces and Arundel Castle. In 2014 together with his friend Sean George claimed the team victory in Gniew Castle, Poland. He has competed in many jousting tournaments all over the world, including English Heritage tournaments around the UK since 2001 to the present day. Steve is one of the founding members of the Order of the Crescent, a jousting team and modern order of chivalry with 15th century origins which has won tournaments worldwide and is the only team to win The Royal Armouries “Sword of Honour Tournament” 3 consecutive times.

Seán George
Knight
With the influence of many movies Seán has also followed his dreams and trained to become a real modern day Knight, and began jousting in 2003. Seán sought the expertise from Steve Mallett to develop his skill as a horse rider. Seán has also landed roles in many film and television productions. As an accomplished horse rider and professional jouster, Seán has had the privilege to compete at such historical venues as The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace for the Royal Palaces, Arundel Castle, and castles and historical sites for English Heritage; which lead to invitations to complete internationally including The Tournament of The Phoenix in San Diego in 2012 and 2015. Seán became part of the winning duo as they took the Team Champions prize in Quebec at The Tournoi International de Joute du Duché de Bicolline in 2014. Together Seán and Steve have competed internationally as team mates, and were victorious with their win as Team Champions in Poland in The Tournament of King John III at Gniew Castle.

Jeffrey Hedgecock
Knight
Since 2003 when he first competed at the Royal Armouries Museum he has jousted in dozens of competitive tournaments in 10 countries worldwide. From 2007 to 2015 he co-produced with his wife Gwen, the event “The Tournament of the Phoenix” in southern California. It was a 3 days of competition on foot and on horseback which he won in 2015.
He is one of the founding members of the Order of the Crescent. together with Steve. a jousting team and modern order of chivalry with 15th century origins which has won tournaments worldwide and is the only team to win The Royal Armouries “Sword of Honour Tournament” 3 consecutive times. He has also jousted in numerous English Heritage jousting events.

Martyn Smith
Knight
Martyn has may years of experience in the jousting community jousting all around the world, and began jousting in 2005. With his Fresian horse conny who he trained to joust himself he is a formidable figure on any tournament field. He has completed in jousting and foot tournaments for English Heritage and the Royal Palaces and many more for years. He is always one to look out for on the tournament field.

Alix Van Zijit
Knight
Alix Van Zijl is a jouster from the Netherlands. In 2010 she did her first joust, and expanded her horizon from there to the rest of Europe and overseas to the USA. Not only did she partake in the balsa jousts, she competed in the historical solid lance jousts aswell, for example at Nyborg in Denmark, Schaffhausen in Switzerland, and on the Isle of Wight. Besides jousting she is very capable in the mounted combat aswell.
